How the estimate works
The number is computed from real road distance × a base rate per mile for your equipment, plus a fuel surcharge at the current diesel price. The mileage comes from the same routing engine that plans the driver's trip, so Chicago to Atlanta prices at 679 driving miles rather than the 588 a straight line would give. Carriers can be cheaper or pricier depending on lane pressure, fuel, and timing — what you see here is a fair middle-of-the-market starting point.
The "GetHaulDirect total" line is what you would be charged: the posted rate, with our flat 5% coming out of it rather than being added to it, so the carrier is paid 95%. Compare it to whatever your current broker's rate confirmation shows — if the broker line is ≥10% higher, that's the broker's spread you're paying for.

The distance is real road mileage from our routing engine, not a straight line — Chicago to Atlanta prices at 679 driving miles. This page has no date field, so it prices as if the pickup were unhurried; posting the same load for same-day pickup adds 20%, while two weeks of lead time takes 3% off. We do not claim a precision figure against real carrier offers — too few loads have booked to measure one honestly.

+Can individuals get a freight quote here?
Yes. The estimator works for one-off shipments — motorcycles, vehicles, household goods, oversized furniture — exactly the same as for businesses. The 5% flat fee applies regardless of shipper type, and individuals can register without a W-9.
