How the estimate works
The number is computed from great-circle distance × an industry-average per-mile rate tuned by equipment type. We pad ~20% to approximate driving distance vs. straight-line; that's the same multiplier most rate-engines apply before they hit OSRM or Google for an exact figure. Carriers can be cheaper or pricier depending on lane pressure, fuel, and timing — what you see here is a fair middle-of-the-market starting point.
The "GetHaulDirect total" line bundles the rate to the carrier plus our flat 5% platform fee. Compare it to whatever your current broker's rate confirmation shows — if the broker line is ≥10% higher, that's the broker's spread you're paying for.

The estimate is computed from great-circle distance × an industry-average per-mile rate tuned by equipment type, padded ~20% to approximate driving distance. It typically lands within 10–15% of the actual carrier offer on standard dry-van and reefer lanes. Specialty equipment (flatbed, step-deck, oversize) and tight pickup windows can move the actual rate up; loose timing and high-volume corridors can move it down.
+Do I have to sign up to get the quote?
No. The estimator is open without a signup. The signup gate is only at the post-the-load step, after you've seen the number and want to actually move freight.
+Does the quote include the 5% platform fee?
The estimator shows two figures: the carrier rate (what the trucker receives) and the GetHaulDirect total (carrier rate + 5% platform fee). Compare the GetHaulDirect total to whatever your current broker quoted you — if the broker line is ≥10% higher, that's the broker's spread.
+What equipment types are supported?
Dry van, refrigerated (reefer), flatbed, step-deck, box truck, and intermodal. Each has a different per-mile rate baseline that the estimator applies. For oversize, hazmat, or specialty rigs not on the list, contact us for a manual quote.
+Can individuals get a freight quote here?
Yes. The estimator works for one-off shipments — motorcycles, vehicles, household goods, oversized furniture — exactly the same as for businesses. The 5% flat fee applies regardless of shipper type, and individuals can register without a W-9.
